Beginner Horse Day Camp

Get ready for an action-packed week at our Beginner Horse Day Camp, designed just for youth ages 8-12! Perfect for beginner and novice riders, this exciting program runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily.

Campers will dive into the world of horses, discovering how these amazing animals think and what they can teach us! Safety and fun are our top priorities as campers learn to lead, saddle, and ride their new equine friends.

Each day is filled with awesome activities, including campfire devotions, a thrilling trail ride, and all the fun that Ironwood Springs has to offer. Just a heads up—riders must weigh 225 lbs or less. Join us for an unforgettable adventure!

The week ends with a closing program for parents and family at 2:30pm on Friday.

Camp Cost: $400

Campers will receive a camp t-shirt, a digital picture of themselves with the horse they rode during camp, and a certificate. Lunch and a snack are provided each day.

Note:
  • There are 2 levels of Beginner Horse Day Camp. Each level is designed to match your camper's current proficiency and allow them to master certain skills before advancing to the next level. Upon completion of each level, campers will receive a certificate detailing the skills they have learned.   • We will allow a grace period of 15 minutes for drop-off and pick-up times. If drop-off or pick-up time exceeds 15 minutes, your account will be charged the early drop-off or pickup fee of $25 for the week. 
  • Campers must be checked out by a pre-approved adult. Be prepared to show I.D. at checkout.

Intermediate Horse Day Camp
Campers Ages 10-16

June 10 - 14 (Tue - Sat)  | July 21 - 25 (Mon - Fri)

Get ready for an exhilarating adventure at our Intermediate Horse Wrangler Day Camp, perfect for youth ages 10-16! Designed for intermediate riders, this action-packed camp runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with lunch and snacks provided each day.

Campers will build on their beginner skills while diving into exciting topics like balance and foot placement, leads and loping, bareback riding, and the basics of jumping. Each day is filled with fun, including campfire devotions, thrilling trail rides, and all the amazing activities Ironwood Springs has to offer!

The week wraps up with a special closing program for parents and family at 2:30 PM on the final day. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable equestrian experience—just remember, riders must weigh 225 lbs or less. Let the adventure begin!

Advanced Horse Day Camp

Join us for an action-packed Advanced Rider Horse Camp designed specifically for skilled equestrians! This thrilling day camp is all about taking your horse skills to the next level while having an absolute blast. Campers will explore how God created horses, discovering more about themselves along the way!

Throughout the camp, participants will engage in groundwork and riding, focusing on essential skills such as feel, timing, and balance to enhance communication with both horses and people. This camp is perfect for advanced riders who can confidently walk, trot, and lope, and weigh 225 lbs or less—please note, this is not for first-time riders!

Each day is filled with adventure, featuring campfire devotions, exhilarating trail rides, and a lineup of fun activities at Ironwood Springs, which may include ziplining, swimming, slip-and-slide, laser tag, and so much more!

NEW this year - bring your own horse! 
Your camper can meet with the Equine Director for a lesson with your personal horse to determine if you can bring your horse to camp! You provide the food, bedding, equipment, buckets, etc. and we provide the stall.

Skills You’ll Develop:
  • Advanced riding techniques: safety on the trail, navigating potential hazards, loping, riding bridleless (in the round pen), and bareback riding (in/around the round pen)
  • Enhanced observation skills to improve your connection with horses
  • Teamwork and horse driving exercises
  • Horsemanship concepts explored on and off the saddle
