We have a Big Dream! To provide as much opportunity as possible for individuals and families challenged with disabilities, autism, or military service to experience God's peace, love, and hope through Ironwood Springs. All of these programs were full in 2019. We want to provide 3 new family-style, accessible cabins
that will allow us to serve more people. At the same time, our Rec Center needs some critical updates
to be a four season, multi-purpose center, including an accessible indoor climbing wall and sound improvements for those challenged with sensory issues, especially with our autism program. These changes will also require some water and septic infrastructure improvements. In all we would estimate costs of at least $3-400,000.
How do we do this? We know two things. We have a Big God
who has been faithful to provide for our mission over the last 43 years. We know that He has also given us a Big Community! Anytime Ironwood Springs has needed to grow to serve more people, God has provided in money, materials, and volunteers.
Call to me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.
- Jeremiah 33:3
How will this get accomplished in 2020?
I (Bob) am reminded that in the late 1980's, we wanted to build the dining hall/bunks building with no funding. The footings got done by Rochester Sand and Gravel. I don’t remember who was going to pour the footings but they did give me the number of yards of concrete. I called the concrete company and asked what the cost would be. They gave me the amount and I said as soon as I get the funds raised, I will give you a call. They said, “What if we donate it?” My reply, “Bring it tomorrow”. We are being blessed by those words many times over already.
Our Big God and Big Community already at work
To date the following is the list of those individuals/businesses who have shown an interest or who have made a commitment to help:
When would we like to start?
We are planning on construction on the cabins to begin May 2020 depending on permits, funding, etc.
How can you help?
Your time and skills:
If you would like to help in planning these projects, you can join the building committee. Our next scheduled meeting at the ranch will be Monday, Jan 13 at 5:30 in the Ironwood office. Or if you want to volunteer to help in the building phase, you can let us know where you would like to help. If you have a team of people, all the better.
Materials: The cost of the project can be offset significantly through donated or reduced-cost materials. See below for an ongoing list of materials that are needed.
Donate:
If you would like to donate now or pledge your support to help us get started. If you would like to designate which part of the project you want to support, let us know. Or you can donate online here. You can scroll down on that page to select this capital project.
