Equestrian Activity Guest Policies


Rides with temperatures and wind chills that fall below zero degrees are subject to cancellation.


General Guest Policies  

 

  • Respect other guests/guest groups on site.
  • Speech and conduct must be family friendly.
  • Dress appropriately for activities.
  • Youth should be supervised at all times while on-site.
  • Alcohol, non-prescription drugs, fireworks, gambling or weapons of any kind are not allowed on Ironwood Springs property.
  • Smoking is not allowed in or near building entrances.
  • Abide by all posted signs.
  • Ironwood Springs reserves the right to remove any unauthorized person(s) or anyone who does not abide by the guest policies or the direction of Ironwood Springs staff.
  • Ironwood Springs does not assume responsibility for lost or stolen items. Items left behind will be held for 30 days before being donated or discarded.

 

Trail Ride Policies


Weather may dictate changes in the schedule. If rides are cancelled (by Ironwood) due to inclement weather or trail conditions, riders will be given a refund or opportunity to reschedule. If ride is not cancelled by Ironwood, then riders are expected to use their reserved spot.


For the safety of all riders and horses, the following rules apply:

  • Must be 8 years of age or older.
  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to your ride.
  • Riders will witness a short riding demonstration (required for all riders) prior to the trail ride.
  • Riders arriving late to their scheduled ride forfeit their ride and payments. 
  • Maximum weight is 225 pounds.
  • No double riders
  • Close toed shoes only (no sandals)
  • Long pants
  • Helmets are available and required for riders under 18 years of age.


An online waiver must be signed for all riders.

 

Sleigh / Wagon Ride Policies

 

  • Parking is available on the south side of the Castner Riding Arena or near the entrances of the campground.
  • Sleigh/wagon rides are one hour long, including time for loading and instructions. The rides can be split into two or three shorter rides if arranged in advance.
  • Riders arriving late to their scheduled ride forfeit their ride and payments. 
  • Maximum 20 people per ride.
  • Each cutter ride is 30 minutes long. Maximum 3 people per ride.
  • Warm quilts are provided.

Rides are subject to cancellation if less than 4 people have reserved, temperatures have fallen below zero (including wind chill) or icy conditions. 


An online waiver must be signed for all riders.

  • You have up to 1 week in advance to make changes to your reservation or to reschedule your reservation.
  • If cancellation or rescheduling is less than 1 week, no refund is issued.
