ConnectAbilities Family Winter Day Camp

We invite families with special needs to a heartwarming day of winter fun and connection! Experience the joy of snow tubing, enjoy a cozy sleigh ride, and savor a delicious lunch everyone will love. Participate in sensory-based creative arts and crafts, while enjoying Ironwood's picturesque winter landscapes. Kids can look forward to engaging in activities tailored to their needs, and don’t miss the chance to explore the winter wonderland on a guided snowshoe hike. This special day is all about creating joyful memories and fostering connections within our community. We can’t wait to celebrate the season with you!

Activities have an adaptive option and may include:

Cost: $70 per person
Kids 3 and under are free

ConnectAbilities Empower & Connect:  A Special Needs Family Workshop Day

April 5, 2025  | 10:00am - 2:00pm


Join us on April 5th for a day designed to empower, connect, and renew families with special needs. Hosted at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch in partnership with the Rochester Area Autism Resource Guide, this event offers a full day of inspiration, learning, and respite. Families will experience a balanced schedule of engaging parent workshops, hands-on child activities, and dedicated respite time. With rotating sessions, we ensure every family member has the opportunity to engage, learn, and relax in a welcoming, inclusive environment.


Event Highlights:

  • Parent Workshops: Explore topics like Music Therapy, Resilience for Caregivers, and Practical Strategies for Everyday Challenges
  • Children’s Activities: Enjoy Animal Encounters, Movement Fun, Creative Expression, and more, designed to support sensory needs and joy
  • Keynote Speaker: Be inspired by a guest speaker focusing on hope, resilience, and encouragement for families navigating life with special needs
  • Respite for Parents: A quiet retreat space for relaxation and recharge

Each activity is optional, so you can participate at your own comfort level. Plus, we offer alternative options and a fantastic indoor sensory room located on the lower level of Miracle Lodge, with sensory backpacks available for check-out when you arrive!

Families will rotate through and experience a variety of group activities as a family at Ironwood Springs! Each group activity is optional, and families are encouraged to participate based on their comfort level. Each retreat offers alternative options in addition to an indoor sensory room (located in the lower level of Miracle Lodge). Sensory backpacks are also available for check-out when you arrive.
