National Wheelchair Sports and Recreation Camp

Established in 1986, the camp gives physically challenged children and adults an opportunity to participate in sports such as horseback riding, water skiing, basketball, softball, tennis, and many others, with the unique opportunity to be mentored by Paralympic athletes. In addition, they are encouraged, given hope, and reminded of God’s love and plan for their lives.

Camp Kickoff Event: Wheels & Heels of Fire 10k

Wheels of Fire Registration

A 10K race sponsored by Pizza Ranch starts from the Pizza Ranch in Stewartville and finishes at Ironwood Springs. All are welcome. Participants include wheelers, hand cyclists, bikers, rollerbladers, runners, walkers, strollers, and more! An event you don’t want to miss!

Race Begins:
June 8, 2013 at 8:30am, and starts at the Pizza Ranch in Stewartville (call 533-4315 for directions)

Race Ends:
At the Miracle Lodge in Ironwood Springs.

Cost:
Donations Accepted. All proceeds will go to the National Wheelchair Sports and Recreation Camp, Stewardville Youth Athletic Association (SYAA), and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Lodging:
Those attending the Wheels &Heels of Fire 10k Event registered for Wheel Chair Camp can stay in the Miracle Lodge at Ironwood Springs on Friday, June 7^th.

National Wheelchair Sports & Recreation Camp Information

Cost:

$250 per person. Contact Ironwood Springs if you need help with funding or travel, as we want you at camp. No one misses camp for lack of funds.

PCA--$150

Family members--$100

Meals:
Included in the cost. Meals are provided Saturday lunch through Thursday breakfast.

Transportation:
Transportation available from Rochester airport and bus station, please indicate on registration form if transportation is needed.

Anyone ages 12 to Adult

The serious and casual athlete

The outdoor nature lover

Check In:
1:00pm Saturday, June 8^th at the Miracle Lodge after the Wheels & Heels of Fire 10k Event.

Check Out:
Thursday, June 14^th after breakfast.

Lodging:
Included in the cost. Participants will stay in the Miracle Lodge. This facility was opened in 2007 and is the only wheelchair accessible 27-room hotel.
