Cabin Counselor

As a Cabin Counselor at Ironwood Springs, your weeks will be spent building relationships with a group of 6-8 campers, leading them in games, worship, and small group discussions, encouraging them as they try new activities like the zipline or mastering the challenge course, and ministering to them by sharing your Christian faith.  This is a challenging and rewarding job that can make a life-long impact on those you serve.  Cabin Counselors have the opportunity to work with campers ranging from 1st -12th grade.  

PURPOSE

The purpose of a Cabin Counselor is to serve as a spiritual leader to campers while guiding them through a week of camp. 

 DUTIES

  • Facilitate a welcoming and inclusive environment within your cabin
  • Build positive relationships with campers and encourage engagement in the camp experience
  • Lead small group discussions with your cabin after chapel
  • Help lead and participate in camp games
  • Guide campers through daily schedule and help transition between activities
  • Maintain a clean, organized camp environment
  • Assist Program Staff in running camp operations
  • Work to ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of campers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Experience working with youth
  • Experience serving in a Christian ministry

*With the exception of Counselor Training, Counselors may choose to work for all, or a selection of camps.

Activities Staff

As part-time Activities Staff, you get to work in a highly interactive environment while leading a variety of activities.  You will play an important role in the experience of Ironwood guests and join our mission to help people connect with God, self and others in a beautiful and welcoming environment.  This is a part-time seasonal position.  Hours are variable, offering up to 20 hours per week. 

PURPOSE

To lead guests through a variety of activities that Ironwood provides, ensuring that their experience is fun, safe, and in keeping with Ironwood’s mission. 

 DUTIES

  •  Run activity areas such as zip line, archery, challenge course, and bouldering wall.
  • Perform equipment safety checks and report any maintenance needs
  • Set up activity areas prior to guests’ arrival, and clean up activity area when finished, ensuring that all equipment is stored properly
  • Greet guests and provide activity instructions
  • Enforce activity rules and Ironwood policies
  • Help with other tasks as assigned, including but not limited to setting up lawn games, preparing for games and events, assisting with Ironwood programming needs, etc. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be personable and able to interact well with individuals and large groups
  • Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic
  • Must be willing to uphold Ironwood’s statement of faith and Christian identity

Summer Wranglers

We are looking for college-aged, experienced riders who enjoy working with people, and especially youth.  Join our equine team for the summer to help with our horse camps.  This position may include on site room and board.  Contact our equine director, BJ by email at wrangler@ironwoodsprings.com if interested.

Trail Ride Lead
