Intermediate Horse Day Camp

A horse intense intermediate wrangler Day camp for youth ages 8-18. This camp is for intermediate riders. The program runs from 8:00 a.m. til 4:00 p.m. which includes lunch and snack.

Campers will take the skills learned in beginner camp, and add to it topics such as balance and feet placement, leads and loping, bareback riding and learning the jumping basics. The day will include devotions around the campfire, along with other fun activities outside the barn like a chuckwagon lunch, zip line, swimming and bonding with fellow campers on the challenge course. Riders must weigh 225# or less.

Camp Cost:
  • $350.00
  • $25 option for early drop off at 7 a.m. (all week long, breakfast included)
  • $25 option for late pickup at 5 p.m. (all week long, snack included)
  • $20 early bird discount available if registration is received by May 1
  • $20 multi-child discount available
  • $20 multi-camp discount available
Online registration for summer youth camps is preferred. A paper registration form is available if needed. An additional equine waiver is required for all horse camps.

3:00 pm Friday Horse Show at the Castner Riding Arena

Lunch and snack are included in the cost.

Who can attend:
For youth ages 8-18. For intermediate horse riders, please call the barn to determine eligibility, 507-533-9933. For the safety of the rider and consideration of our horses, campers must weigh less than 225 lbs.

The week will end with a horse show for the parents, a picture of the camper with one of the horses they rode at Ironwood, a T-shirt, and a certificate. We require that anyone registering at this camp weigh less than 225 lbs. For safety of the rider and consideration of our horses, this rule will be strictly enforced.
